A WORK IN PROGRESS |
|||||
| The Mad Hatter, 2001, photographed over a period of five months, illustrating the artist's unique method of working without compositional sketches. Each painting develops slowly, piece by piece, like a jigsaw puzzle that reveals its final shape only upon completion. This extraordinary technique requires a deep trust in the process, and the artist's faith always yeilds surprises. Coleman's subconscious creates patterns, relationships and meanings that he discovers only in the final composition.
